Q&A period ends for fiber optic concession in Chile

Chile's Undersecretariat of Telecommunications (SUBTEL) has recently announced that the Questions and answers period has ended for the Austral fiber optic concession project in Chile.

SUBTEL has responded 844 answers during this period and it elaborated a document with all de clarifications, which is available here.

The Government of Chile launched the tender process to implement a core fiber optic network linking the Chilean regions of Los Lagos, Aysen and Magallanes. 

The project comprises the development of a fiber optic network that will consist of an undersea layout and three terrestrials fiber optic lines. Additionally, it will incorporate new high-capacity services, access and applications for users.

The total budget for the project is CLP62.3 billion (US$92.8 million)

The deadline for submitting proposals is October 25th 2016 and the date of opening the tenders will be the next day.
