The Brazilian municipality of Pouso Alegre, in the state of Minas Gerais, will launch a public consultation for the Pouso Alegre international airport concession.
The public consultation will have a period of 30 days. Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), which is acting as transaction advisor for the municipality, has presented the project details to the interested parties.
The project will involve the development of an airport in a 5 km² area located near the Cidade Vergani, Curralinho, Fazendinha and Cajuru. The preferred bidder will also operate and maintain the new facilities along with the old airport. The concession contract will have a period of 30 years.
The total project investment is estimated at R$541 million (US$179.2 million).
Pouso Alegre is a municipality in the southern region of Minas Gerais (Brazil) with a population of 142.000. It is an industrial center with industries in the food sector, textiles, and metallurgy. Many national and multinational enterprises have their plants there.
