Proinversion adds 3 health concessions to project pipeline

Peru's private investment promotion agency ProInversion has added three health concessions to its project pipeline.

Peru's Social Health Insurance Board (EsSalud) agreed, along with others, to request ProInversion technical assistance to conduct the investment projects under the modality of Public Private Partnership, as well as the delegation of the exercise of competence for the process of the unsolicited proposals, that the Executive Presidency of EsSalud will decide.

The total estimated investment fot the projects and the deadlines for the tender processes have not been defined yet, but the projects have been already included in Proinversion's project portfolio, which was updated on August 4th and it reached an amount of US$5,359.2 million of total investment.

The concession contracts will involve the design, construction and maintenance, the purchase and maintenance of clinical and non-clinical equipment and the care services operation.

The three new hospitals are:

  • Institute for Children and Adolescents of the Social Health Insurance Project:  a care center at the level of a High Complexity Hospital with care level III. It will provide a prompt and quality attention to the children and adolescents insured that required it, at any part of the country. It will counts with at least 256 hospital beds. 
  • New Hospital of High Complexity Chimbote Project: a care center at the level of a High Complexity Hospital with care level II, and it will have as an influenced area the provinces of the Department of Ancash. It will counts with at least 108 hospital beds.
  • New Hospital of High Complexity Piura Project: a care center at the level of a High Complexity Hospital with care level III, and will have as an influenced area the districts in the Department of Piura and Tumbes. It will counts with at least 184 hospital beds.
