Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Joseph Brant Hospital has announced that Integrated Team Solutions (ITS) is the preferred proponent selected to design, build and finance the Hospital's Redevelopment and Expansion Project.
The ITS team includes: EllisDon Corporation (constructor), Fengate Capital Management Ltd. (financial advisor) and Parkin/Adamson Architects Limited (architects in joint venture).
The team beat out of competition from two other shortlisted consortia:
The project will provide the growing community of Burlington with improved access to a larger, modern hospital with more single patient rooms, consistent with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care's design guidelines, to meet the highest standards for infection prevention and control and quality patient of care.
Highlights of the project include:
IO and Joseph Brant Hospital will now begin negotiating contract details with ITS. The project is expected to reach financial close in early 2015, which means that relevant contracts will have been signed and the project's costs finalized.
The estimated investment for the project is about C$240 million. The project is proceeding under IO's Alternative Financing and Procurement model.
