Durham University and Durham City have selected UPP as the Preferred Bidder to develop, a detailed scheme proposition for the refurbishment of the College of St Hild and St Bede and the development of new college accommodation at the Leazes Road site.
UPP is the UK's comprehensive Design, Build, Fund, and Operate (DBFO) company specializing in the Higher Education sector. Durham University cited several key reasons for choosing UPP for the renovation of Hild Bede, including:
The project aims to revitalize The College of St Hild and St Bede, located on its iconic and picturesque site along the slope of the River Wear, to offer outstanding accommodation and a top-tier student experience. UPP will collaborate with Durham University to further develop the proposal, with the project slated to begin in 2025.
