Preferred bidder in place for the Western Macedonia waste PPP project

The Greek Special PPP Secretariat has announced that the tender procedure for the Western Macedonia waste management PPP project concluded with the announcement of preferred bidder.

By decision of the contracting authority, the consortium formed by DIADYMA SA and AKTOR Concessions - HELEKTOR was announced preferred bidder and will undertake the design, financing, construction, maintenance and operation of the facilities for the integrated waste management system in the Region of Western Macedonia for 25 years.

The total value of the contract is approximately €45 million, financed by the private partner. The project will be completed within two years from the commencement of construction.

On Tuesday, December 18th, 2012, the European Investment Bank approved in principal its participation in the project's financing.

Three candidates had submitted binding offers on December 28th, 2012.
