Rijksvastgoedbedrijf, the Dutch government buildings agency has selected Inbalans consortium as preferred bidder for the Breda Courthouse PPP project in the Netherlands.
The team is composed by Macquarie Capital, VolkerWessels and Facilicom.
The new building will hold three organizations, the Breda Court, the Breda-Middelburg District Public Prosecutor and the 'Raad voor de Kinderbescherming' (child council), under one roof. The new Courthouse spreads over about 27,000 m² of gross floor area, excluding the parking facility and landscaping. It will be located near the Station Quarter, Breda's central train station.
The project will be developed on a design, build, finance, operation and maintenance (DBFOM) basis. The PPP contract will have a period of 30 years.
Breda is a city in the Dutch province of North Brabant. Breda had a population of 180,420 inhabitants in 2014; the metropolitan area had a population of 324,812 inhabitants.
Last month we reported that Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch contracting authority for PPP infrastructure projects, had launched a tender process for the A6 "Almere Havendreef - Almere East" PPP project. The project will include the design, build, finance and maintenance (DBFM) of the road for a period of 20 years. The contract value is estimated at €30 million (US$32.56 million).
