The City of Edmonton (Canada) has selected the Marigold Infrastructure Partners consortium to develop the Edmonton Valley Line West Light Rail Transit (LRT) P3 project.
The consortium team also includes Colas Canada, Parsons Corp., Standard General Inc., Francl Architecture, Fast & Epp, and Stantec Inc.
The Edmonton Valley Line West LRT is the second stage of the Valley Line LRT project, which will ultimately deliver 27 kilometers of light rail to Edmonton. The extension will span 14km between 102 Street and Lewis Farms, running from Mill Woods through downtown to the west end, with connections to LRT and bus routes covering the entire city. The 14 stops include West Edmonton Mall, the Misericordia Hospital and the Brewery District.
The contract with an estimated value of CAD2.6 billion (US$1.9 billion) is expected to be completed by the end of 2020. Construction work on the project is expected to begin in 2021. The Valley Line West LRT project will contribute to the recovery of the city and region after COVID-19.
