National Land Transportation Agency (ANTT) in Brazil has selected Brazilian company CCR S.A. as a winner for the concession of BR-101/SC road project in the state of Santa Catarina.
The project is a 220.4 km long BR-101/SC road connecting Paulo Lopes to São João do Sul. The project includes implementation of 98.3 km of the third lane until the 25th year of the concession, the construction of 70.3 km of marginal roads, 5 new uneven devices, 18 pedestrian walkways, 31 improvements in access, lighting in urban crossings and on marginal roads, among other improvements. The highway will have four toll plazas distributed on the stretch.
The Concession has a term of 30 years and consists of the exploration of the infrastructure and the provision of the public service of recovery, conservation, maintenance, operation, implementation of improvements and expansion of capacity.
CCR has proposed toll fees of BRL 1.97 (US$ 0.44), with a discount of 62% of the maximum tariff determined by the National Land Transportation Agency. In addition to CCR, Ecorodovias and Consório Way participated in the tender.
The Ministry of Infrastructure foresees the total investment of BRL 7.4 billion (USD 1.7 billion) of which BRL 3.4 billion (USD 774 million) will be CAPEX investment and BRL 4 billion (USD 911 million) in operating costs over the 30-year concession period.
The 220 kilometer road stretch provides access to the most important beaches in the state, such as Praia do Rosa, Ferrugem, Balneário Camboriú and Bombinhas.
Brazil's national land transport agency ANTT has approved the proposal for BR-153/080/414/GO/TO road concession connecting the states of Goiás and Tocantins. BR-153 is currently considered one of the main national integration roads in Brazil. The stretch of this highway included in the future Concession is 624.1 km long, 598.3 km of which is a single lane. The newly approved proposal includes two additional sections (BR 414 and BR 080).
