Preferred bidder announced for the Peloponnese waste management PPP project The tender procedure for the Peloponnese waste management PPP project concluded with the announcement of TERNA ENERGY as preferred bidder.

Binding offers were submitted on Thursday, July 11th, 2013, for the selection of a private partner for the project. The three candidates that submitted binding offers are the following:

  1. AKTOR CONCESSIONS - HELEKTOR
  2. TERNA ENERGY
  3. MESOGEIOS - J&P AVAX

By decision of the Region of Peloponnese, TERNA ENERGY was announced preferred bidder and will undertake the design, financing, construction, maintenance and operation of the facilities for the integrated waste management system in the Region of Peloponnese for 28 years.

The total value of the contract is approximately €132 million and the EU funds will cover €65 million. The project will be completed within two years from the commencement of construction.
