PQQs sought for fourth PF2 school batch
The UK Department for Education is requesting Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) for the fourth batch of privately financed schools in the country under the PF2 model.
The Education Funding Agency (EFA) is seeking contractors to design, build, finance and maintain new educational facilities and provide services for batch 4 of the PSBP programme in the Yorkshire area of England.
It is anticipated that the services are likely to include hard facilities management services and may also include some soft facilities services.
The proposed term of the contract will include an estimated 24 month construction phase and a 25 year operational term from the service commencement date of the final school to be completed in this batch.
The PSBP Yorkshire private finance batch comprises 7 secondary schools.
- All Saints Catholic College, Huddersfield;
- Belle Vue Boys' School, Bradford;
- Carlton Bolling College, Bradford;
- Harrogate High School, Harrogate;
- Oakbank School, Keighley;
- Samuel Lister Academy, Bradford;
- Whitcliffe Mount Business and Enterprise College, Huddersfield.
PQQs must be submitted by March 17th, 2014.
The Priority School Building Programme (PSBP) is a new schools programme. Its purpose is to rebuild/refurbish 261 schools. The PSBP contains a mixture of private finance and public capital projects.
Shortlisted bidders have been announced for the other three batches:
- Batch 1 - Priority School Building Programme (Hertfordshire, Luton and Reading)
- Batch 2 - Priority School Building Programme (North East)
- Batch 3 - Priority School Building Programme (North West)

Foresight Solar Fund to acquire 10.7MW Hunters Race solar power plant
Foresight Solar Fund Limited (FSFL) has agreed a deal to acquire its seventh large-scale solar plant, the 10.7MW Hunters Race plant in West Sussex (England) from Brilliant Harvest Limited, a solar power generation company and Elgar Byrne Capital Limited, a UK based developer of ground based solar photovoltaic farms, for a purchase consideration of £14.5 million (US$24 million).
