The French Transport Minister, Frédéric Cuvillier, has awarded the PPP contract to build the Marseille L2 bypass to the consortium Phocéale composed of Bouygues Public Works, Public Works Regions Bouygues France, CDC Infrastructure, Colas Midi Mediterranean DTP Earthworks, Egis Investment Partners, Egis Projects, ETDE Meridiam Infrastructure Finance and Spie Batignolles.
In this race to win the € 730 million PPP contract, the Bouygues-led team beat teams led by Eiffage and Vinci. The contract will complete the L2 free urban ring road, with dozen kilometers, connecting the A50 motorway in the East and the A7 in the North.
The winning consortium will finance, design, build, and maintain the future road. The road is expected to be completed in 2016.
