Philippines approves 6 new PPP projects

The government of Philippines, through the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), has approved 6 new PPP projects worth P164.1 billion (US$3.67 billion).

The six approved projects are the following:

The NEDA has also approved a request of the DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) to proceed with the Laguna Lakeshore expressway and dike PPP project and changes on the Laguindingan airport PPP project. NEDA reported in a statement:

The 18-month loan extension for [the Laguindingan Airport's] air navigation system and support facilities was moved to Jan. 10, 2016 from July 10, 2014. The cost reallocation effectively decreased the total cost to P7.70 billion from P7.85 billion. The approval, however, was conditioned on a change in specifications to be confirmed by the DPWH.
