Philippines announces deadlines for PPP projects

The Republic of Philippines, through its Public Private Partnership (PPP) center, has announced deadlines for three PPP projects.

The deadline to submit proposals for the NLEX-SLEX Connector road is 25 July 2016. The project involes the construction of a 13.4 km. 4-lane elevated expressway over the Philippine National Railway (PNR) right of way which starts at Caloocan City and ends in Buendia, Makati City. It will connect North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) to decongest traffic in Metro Manila.

The total project investment is estimated at PHP21.2 billion (US$457.2 million).

The deadline to submit proposals for the Regional Prison Facilities PPP project is 25 August 2016. The project comprises the financing, detailed design and construction, and maintenance of a modern prison facility in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija. The proposed facility can accommodate 26,880 inmates, including staff housing and administrative buildings, areas for rehabilitation (sports, work and religious activity), and will be installed with high security equipment.

The total project investment is estimated at PHP40.29 billion (US$868.97million).

The deadline to submit pre-qualification documents for the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 6 PPP project is 9 September 2016. The project involves the development of a 19 km railway that will link Niyog, Bacoor, the terminus of the LRT 1 CAVEX extension, and Dasmariñas City. To be more specific, the project includes: architectural, detailed engineering, systems design and construction of 19 km rail line form Niyog, Bacoor city to Dasmariñas city; procurement, testing and commissioning of all requires rolling stock, equipment and support infrastructure; operations and maintenance to the LTR 6 system to ensure minimum performance services standards; and project enhancement works covering whole-of-life investment for the project.

The total project investment is estimated at PHP65,1 billion (US$1.4 billion).
