The Ministry of Economy and Finances of Peru has begun negotiations with Lima Airport Partners for the extension of the concession contract of the Jorge Chavez International Airport.
According to sources, the government has agreed with the company to extent the concession period for another 10 years, instead of the 20 years that Lima Airport initially demanded. This contract extension is part of the compensation for the delay in delivering the land where the infrastructure of the new airport terminal will be constructed.
Lima Airport Partners is a limited liability company owned by Fraport AG (70%), International Finance Corporation (20%) and Fund for Investment in Infrastructure (10%).
Jorge Chavez International Airport is Peru's main international and domestic airport. It is located in Callao, 11 kilometers from the Historic Centre of Lima and 17 km from Miraflores. During 2014 the airport served a record of 18.170.035 passengers.
