Peru's private investment promotion agency Proinversion is seeking consultants to structure Lima metro line 3 through a PPP project.
The object of the tender process is to hire the services of a consulting firm or consortium, to prepare pre-investment studies needed to obtain the viability of Lima metro line project. In addition, the consultant shall advise the Proinversion in the development and promotion of the tender process for the project.
Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 16 July 2014. The consultant will be selected on 25 July 2014.
In late April 2014, Proinversion announced that Peru's government plans to launch the tender process for the Lima Metro Line 3 by the end of 2015 or starting 2016.
The initial design of the third corridor spans seven districts, namely, Surco, Miraflores, San Isidro, Lima Cercado (Downtown Lima), Rimac, Los Olivos, and Comas.
On 28 April 2014, the Peruvian government and the consortium Nuevo Metro de Lima, formed by Dragados, Iridium, Impregilo, Global Vía, Cosapi and Ansaldo, signed the contract for the construction and operation of Lima's second metro line, one of the largest infrastructure projects in Latin America.
The total investment for the project amounts to €4.08 billion (US$5.65 billion). The concessionaire will be responsible for financing, design, construction, electromechanical equipment, provision of rolling stock, operation and maintenance of the project for a period of 35 years. The scheme involves a 27km east-west metro line with 27 stations and an 8km airport branch with a further eight stations.
