Pension funds finance Danish court PPP project

Three Danish labour-market pension funds have joined forces with contractor firm CASA and property management company DEAS to develop a town court building in Svendborg, on the Danish island of Funen, through a PPP project.

The three Danish pension funds, which will finance the Danish court PPP project, are PKA, PensionDanmark and Sampension.

The total project investment is estimated at DKK175 million (US$29.4 million).

The new 4,000s m² building will bring court activity in the town under one facility, housing more than 40 of the town's court staff. The project involves the development and management of the new facility for a period of 20 years.

Construction works are scheduled to begin next year. The new building is expected to be operational in June 2016.

Advisers for the Svendborg contract include KPF Architekter and COWI as consulting engineers.
