Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority in California, USA has awarded the PDA contract for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor Project to LA SkyRail Express (LASRE) consortium.
The consortium consists of leading transportation, construction, engineering, finance, and technology companies like:
With Metro Board approval, Metro and LASRE will enter into a contract for pre-development services in an amount not to exceed US$63,605,132. The award of this contract, along with a similar one for a heavy-rail option, will allow the project's environmental process to begin, which will include extensive community conversations over the next one-to-two years to help shape the final alignment, technology and station locations.
The Project is a response to the significant congestion on the Sepulveda Transit Corridor, through which over 400,000 people travel per day. The LASRE Consortium’s proposed solution is a state-of-the-art, advanced, high speed, high-capacity monorail, SkyRail, that will connect the San Fernando Valley and the Westside, with potential extension to LAX.
