P3 projects in North America. September Update

During the last week several PPP projects have moved forward to another stage of the bid process in North America. On this post we will focus on the Knik Arm Bridge in Alaska, the North by Northwest P3 project in Georgia and a toll road project in Puerto Rico.

KABATA expects to short list qualified bidders by the middle of October 2011, followed by issuance of a Request for Proposals (RFP) at the end of the first quarter 2012. The project schedule anticipates financial close (FC) in time for the 2013 construction season.
Industry leaders as HDRWilbur Smith Associates, and Citgroup are advising KABATA with cost estimation, revenue estimation and financial planning.
West by Northwest P3 project in Georgia. USAThe Georgia Department of Transportation has issued the final Request for Proposals (RFP)for the West by Northwest project, a Public Private Partnership (P3) that will deliver a new managed lanes system to Interstates 75 and 575 in Cobb and Cherokee Counties. PR-22 and PR-5 Toll roads in Puerto RicoThe consortium led by  abertis  and the Goldman Sachs Infrastructure Partners II investment fund has closed together with the Puerto Rican government the contract to manage the PR-22 and PR-5 toll roads. The consortium took over the management of the two toll roads yesterday for a 40-year period, following the payment of a concession fee of US $1,136Mn (€830Mn).See press release.- Facebook
