Only Manila Water remains for Lampung water PPP project in Indonesia

The pre-qualification stage for the Lampung Drinking Water Supply System has left only the consortium of Manila Water and Great Giant Pineapple Co. as a potential investor.

Thus, three of the four candidate investors for the project that have not qualified are:

  • Abeima - Wijaya Karya (Wika) joint operation,
  • Acuatico PTE.LTD - Mitsubishi
  • Water Consortium (Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Itochu Corporation, and PT Potum Mundi Infranusantara).
The PPP project is planned to be divided into two packages, namely production and distribution packages.

The production package is the main project, which is the construction of a Lampung Drinking Water Supply System that produces 500 litres of water per second, with an investment of Rp 934.9 billion. This is the project for which the consortium of Manila Water has been shortlisted.

The distribution package is for the maintenance and operations of the distribution network of Lampung Drinking Water Supply System, with a contract for 15 years and being responsible for keeping the level of leakage at no more than 10 percent.

The Finance Ministry will soon announce the amount of viability gap funding (VGF) so that the final bid can be received.

The project will deliver water to 42,000 house service connections in Bandar Lampung.
