Oman seeks technical and legal advisors for water program

OPWP has launched a Request for Proposals (RFQ) to interested bidders to provide Technical Advisory Services and Legal Advisory Services for the competitive tendering of water capacity to meet future demand in 2021 and beyond.

Oman Power and Water Procurement Company SAOC (OPWP) has identified a need for new water capacity in the range of 225,000 to 325,000 m3/day (50-72 MIGD) to serve the Muscat / Barka area in 2021. 

The necessary projects will be structured as an Independent Water Project (IWP) with OPWP purchasing the Potable Water produced by the project under a Water Purchase Agreement with a term of 20 years

OPWP is responsible for the procurement of new electricity generating capacity and water in the Sultanate of Oman in accordance with the requirements of the law for the regulation and privatization of the electricity and related water sector promulgated by Royal Decree 78/2004 and the OPWP licence.

The deadline to submit the Request for Proposal (RFP) is August 2nd, 2016 before 11.00 (local hour).
