Oman moves forward with hospital PPP
Oma's Medical City (IMC) is expected to be developed under a public private partnership (PPP) according to sources. The Ministry of Health and the state-owned Oman Investment Fund (OIF) have already selected Carillion Alawi as a strategic partner to carry out the project.
This project will support the concept of a planned PPP law that once completed will enhance PPP projects development in OMAN.
OIF will fund the project by a US$780 million package of equity and debt. UK Export Finance is also expected to help financing the project.
The project will run under a 15 and 30 years concession contract.
The Medical City project involves the development of four healthcare complexes with a total capacity of 1250 beds, several educational institutions and commercial areas including private hospital, specialist clinics and residential areas, with over 10,000 staff.

Financial close for Oman IWP
The project includes design, construction, ownership, financing, maintenance and operation, of a seawater desalination plant. The drinking water produced by the plant will be sold under a 20 year water purchase agreement to OPWP. The Sohar IWP development will involve a total investment of US$259 million. Read more -
