Spanish infrastructure developer OHL has announced that it has been awarded the Conexión La Molina-Angamos road project in Lima, Peru.
This announcement comes after OHL submitted, in September 2015, an unsolicited proposal to carry out the project. At that time, OHL also submitted another unsolicited proposal to carry out the Pan-American South, Section Ica - Quilca road project.
The Conexión La Molina - Angamos road project involves the development, operation and maintenance of a 12 km urban highway. The new road will link La Molina, Surco, San Borja, Surquillo and Miraflores.
The total project investment is estimated at US$500 million.
Lima along with the seaport of Callao forms a contiguous urban area known as the Lima Metropolitan Area. With a population of almost 10 million, Lima is the most populous metropolitan area of Peru, and the third largest city in the Americas
OHL Concesiones Perú is also currently building and operating a stretch of the Panamericana Norte road with a length of 356 km.
