The Government of Odisha (India) has announced it has approved the bid of multi-specialty healthcare provider Quality Care India Limited for setting up of a cardiac care hospital in Jharsuguda through PPP.
The empowered committee on infrastructure (ECI) headed by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi shortlisted Hyderabad-based Quality Care India Limited which manages Care Hospitals for the tertiary care cardiology facility.
The government expects the hospital will be in operation for 2018 and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be developed in October, according to sources.
The 100-bed proposed hospital will be constructed under a public private partnership (PPP) model. The project cost is estimated at around INR700 million (US$10.40 million). Mahanadi Coalfield Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd., will fund infrastructure development and procurement of equipment for the hospital, the private player would look after the operations and maintenance.
