Willoughby City Council in New South Wales has launched a tender process to seek a private partner for the redevelopment and provision of childcare services under a PPP model.
The tender comprises the demolition of the existing facility, development of the design, funding and construction of a new 77 place facility and provision of childcare services from the new facility on a long term lease arrangement.
The deadline for submitting proposals is July, 19.
Further information is available here.
The site is located at 3 Abbott Road, with an area of 1458sqm. The existing child care centre has been in use for approximately 35 years.
The site is currently developed as a childcare centre, which is an adaptive reuse of a former dwelling house. A recent survey of parents of the existing childcare centre has confirmed a high correlation between drop-off of children attending the childcare centre and children attending the Artarmon Public School, and a large percentage of drop-offs and pick-ups are made by walking to the centre.
