Non-Executive Chairman for Australian investment advisor Infradebt

Infradebt, the company recently created by the cofounder of Access Capital, Alexander Austin, has appointed former UniSuper chief executive Terry McCredden as non-executive chairman of the company.

"I am looking forward to the role of chairman at Infradebt," McCredden said. "Infrastructure debt is an emerging asset class for Australian superannuation funds and Infradebt's experienced investment team is uniquely placed to capitalise on this opportunity."

The firm launched in April 2013 as a funds management and consultancy business that will invest in and advise on Australian infrastructure debt. In September, Austin hired ex-colleague Alex Ramsay, who was chief financial officer of Access Capital until November 2010. Ramsay then founded consultancy firm Sustineo, but has now joined Infradebt, where he will take on the role of chief operating officer as well as have responsibility for credit research of a select number of companies.

Infradebt has also hired Chin-Lee Yu from financial modelling firm Corality, where he was an analyst. Yu will join next week. "Infradebt has spent the last few months recruiting its investment team.

Appointing Terry is the final step in Infradebt's establishment," Austin said. "Terry's experience with large superannuation funds will help Infradebt tailor its investment strategies for Australian funds."

Local newspapers report that Alexander Austin had said before he planned to establish a managed fund. He also stated he didn't plan to compete directly with Access Capital because Access' core business was infrastructure equity.
