No bidders submit proposals for airport PPP in Colombia

The Colombian National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has announced that it has not received proposals for its airports concession tender process.

The process had been re-launched in early 2016 and it is the third time that the ANI has tendered the concession, and as in the two previous occasions, the process has been declared void.

The contract for the concession consist of the design, construction and maintenance of the Airports of Armenia and Neiva on an public private partnership basis.

  • The total investment for the airport of Armenia will be P$117,000 million (US$34.4 million). It involves the pavement upgrade of 180.240 m² and the paving of 21,850 m², construction of a new control tower and the upgrade of the international terminal, among others.
  • The total investment for the airport of Neiva will be P$77,000 million (US$22.7 million). It involves the provision of new equipment and upgrade the cargo terminal, among others.

According to local sources, the ANI is in discussions with potential proponents of the bid to ask what the reasons were for not submitting a final proposal. After receiving feedback, ANI pretends to re-launch the process immediately.
