Colombian ANI launched last week the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the concession of the Pamplona-Cúcuta road PPP, with the result of no teams interested in the project.
According to sources, the lack of interested bidders is likely due to the economic viability of the project.
The project involves the design, build, finance, operation and maintenance of the road during the concession period. The project involves the development of a 62 km road. The new road will have a connection with the Bucaramanga- Pamplona concession. The concession value is estimated at US$541 million.
In early January we published the launch of the tender process to select national or international candidates for two road concessions. The two public private partnership (PPP) road projects will link Bucaramanga with the city of Pamplona and Pamplona with Cúcuta.
According to ANI president, Luis Fernando Andrade, there will be now a revision of the project in order to make the necessary changes to re-tender it as soon as possible.
