The Project Development and Monitoring Facility (PDMF) has approved funding for feasibility studies for 2 proposed regional rail projects in the Philippines.
The studies aim to determine the alignment of the railways, the number of stations and other deliverables. The grant funding is PHP200 million (US$3.63 million) for the following regional train plans:
After completion, the studies will be submitted to the National Economic Development Authority's (NEDA) Investment Coordination Committee for approval to undertake the projects using a public-private partnership (PPP).
