Mott MacDonald appoints Julian Howes as UK head of transport modelling

Mott MacDonald has appointed Julian Howes as head of its UK transport modelling business.

Julian will co-ordinate and manage the modelling strategies and services as part of the consultancy's integrated transport team and will strengthen the implementation of best practice in the use of transport modelling tools throughout the business.

Julian has over 25 years transport planning experience with a broad range of skills including technical expertise in the areas of modelling, appraisal, business and operational management, business development and stakeholder management. Previously Julian worked for Atkins where he led major modelling projects for HS2 Ltd and local authorities.

Tom van Vuren, divisional director for Mott MacDonald's integrated transport business, stated:

"Julian will be based in London, where Mott MacDonald is experiencing substantial growth. With his track record in modelling and business management, Julian is a great addition to the company. He will manage our modelling offering on a national scale and further develop our technical excellence across the stream."
