Mott MacDonald has appointed Cathy Travers as development director for Europe and Africa. Cathy will be responsible for strengthening the consultancy’s position within the sectors it currently operates in as well as identifying and pursuing opportunities in new market streams.
She succeeds Ian Galbraith, who has been appointed Mott MacDonald’s managing director for Asia-Pacific and Australasia.
A chartered structural engineer, Cathy began her career with Husband and Company nearly 30 years ago. She moved to Mott MacDonald following the consultancy’s acquisition of Husband and Company in 1990. Since then Cathy has held a range of operational and business development roles, most recently spending three years as development director for the consultancy’s UK buildings and infrastructure business. During this time she provided project management, technical and procurement advice to a broad variety of public and private sector clients. Cathy was also responsible for establishing Mott MacDonald’s buildings team in Canada.
Mike Haigh, Mott MacDonald’s Europe and Africa managing director, said:
“Due to her experience at successive levels of our business, Cathy provides an invaluable knowledge base to guide our activities within Europe and Africa. Having advised an extensive range of clients, she is exceptionally well-placed to consider how the work of Mott MacDonald fits in to the wider picture of how we can best serve and work with our incredibly diverse client base.”
