Morgan Stanley leads financing for Invenergy's Goldthwaite wind project

Invenergy Wind LLC announced on July 2nd the successful closing of project financing for its Goldthwaite Wind Project, which currently is in construction in Mills County, Texas.

Morgan Stanley acted as the Lead Arranger, Administrative Agent, and Issuing Bank for the construction loan.

The project site is located just southeast of the town of Goldthwaite, Texas, approximately 100 miles north of Austin. The project is being constructed by Blattner Energy, Inc., with substation and transmission line work being performed by EPC Services Company. Goldthwaite Wind will consist primarily of 83 GE 1.7 MW wind turbines; it also will incorporate three GE 2.5 MW brilliant turbines, which feature shortterm battery storage.

Upon completion later this year, the 148.6 MW Goldthwaite Wind project will generate enough clean, renewable energy to power more than 68,000 homes. The electricity produced by the facility will be sold into the wholesale markets managed by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).

Invenergy owns and operates five other wind energy generation projects in Texas. Once Goldthwaite Wind commences full commercial operations, the company's statewide wind portfolio will have a total capacity of more than 830 MW.

Few days ago, Invenergy Wind LLC announced the closing of project financing for its Orangeville Wind Farm in Wyoming County, New York. Rabobank acted as the Mandated Lead Arranger, Administrative Agent and Collateral Agent, and Union Bank S.A., acted as the Syndication Agent and Joint Lead Arranger for the transaction.
