Montenegro tenders cable car concession

The Government of Montenegro has launched the tender process to construct and operate a new cable car under the public private partnership (PPP) model.

The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro as the competent authority pursuant to the Law on  Concessions and on behalf of the Government of Montenegro as the grantor has invited Pre-qualification Applications from prospective bidders for the award of concession for the construction and operation of a new cable car from Kotor to Cetinje over the Lovćen Mountain National Park in Montenegro on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Transfer (DBFOT) basis.

A feasibility study and a preliminary design for the project have been prepared in order to evaluate all of its aspects. The Cable Car will connect the coastal area and the Municipality of Kotor with the Old Royal Capital of Cetinje, passing through the Lovćen Mountain National Park: the entire route will be divided in three sections, with four stations: Dub, Kuk, Ivanova Korita and Cetinje. The total length of the route is about 14.7 km.

The concession for the project will be awarded through a transparent, open, and competitive international two-stage procedure, in accordance with the Montenegrin Law on Concessions.

The deadline for submitting proposals is October 5th.
