Miton Group has hired infrastructure specialist Jim Wright to be the manager of a new fund.
The global equity infrastructure fund is expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2017.
Wright joins Miton from the British Steel Pension Fund where he was a global listed infrastructure manager for 10 years. He joined the pension fund as a UK equities fund manager in 2003, and has worked as a UK and European equities manager at GAM prior to that.
Ian Dighe, chairman of Miton, said:
"We are delighted that Jim is joining the group as part of our continued strategy to deliver differentiated funds that are tailored to our clients' requirements. He brings with him extensive experience and proven performance investing in global infrastructure. We look forward to welcoming him in early 2017."
Wright said:
"I am excited to be joining Miton at this stage of the group's evolution and look forward to launching the new fund investing in global infrastructure."
Miton's most recent fund launch was the European Opportunities fund launched in December 2015 for managers Carlos Moreno and Thomas Brown.
