On 22 January 2014 the Secretary for Transport and Public Works of the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, announced that a public hearing will be held on 5 February 2014 to clarify and make public the bidding process for the northern stretch of Belo Horizonte ring road through a PPP.

The northern stretch of the metropolitan ring road will cross 8 cities.

The contract term is 30 years and the estimated value of the investment is R$2.8 billion (US$1.23 billion). The federal government will contribute with R$800 million (US$353 million) to the project.

The deadline to send comments for the public consultation was 26 July 2013.
