Michael Cheroutes appointed President of ROADIS in USA

ROADIS has announced the appointment of Michael Cheroutes as President of ROADIS - USA. ROADIS is the wholly-owned global transportation investment platform for one of Canada’s largest pension investment managers, PSP Investments.

Currently, Cheroutes is the Director of the Center for Infrastructure Development, a non-profit corporation created to help state and local governments accelerate the delivery of public infrastructure across all sectors through private partnerships.

Between 2010 and 2015, Cheroutes was the founding Director of the Colorado High Performance Transportation Enterprise (HPTE), a government-owned business enterprise within the state’s Department of Transportation. The HPTE is tasked by legislation with the pursuit of innovative financing alternatives for strategic transportation projects in the state. Under Cheroutes’ leadership, the HPTE initiated the consideration of public private partnerships for transportation projects totaling more than US$5 billion, the first of which is now operating and has received national recognition as a model for the PPP delivery of multi-modal transportation and transit improvements.

Before taking over the directorship of the HPTE, Cheroutes was an attorney in private practice, with over forty years of government and project finance experience. His legal work includes PPPs for infrastructure projects in this country and overseas, the ground breaking financings for key toll roads in the state, and the construction of the multi-billion dollar Denver International Airport.

José A. Labarra, Chief Executive Officer of ROADIS said:

"Mike’s arrival will definitely enrich ROADIS team in the US and will help us to achieve our targets in the US market, one of the most significant within ROADIS business plan."
