Mexico tenders hospital PPP in Chiapas

IMSS, the Mexican Social Security Institute, has launched the tender process for the Tapachula Municipality new Hospital PPP in the state of Chiapas.

The project's scope comprises the design, build, financing, operation and maintenance (DBFOM) of the new facilities, which will have a total of 180 beds and 31 consulting rooms. The total project investment is estimated at MXN1.36 billion (US$80 million).

The deadline for submission of proposals is November 10.

In September, the Mexican State of Baja California launched the tender process for a hospital PPP project to be located in Tijuana (read more). We also reported a few weeks ago that the Mexican Institute for Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSTE) awarded the contract for the development of the New Hospital Clinic in Mérida, Yucatán State, through a PPP project​, to Constructora y Edificadora GIA+A.

Last year, IMSS, the Mexican Social Security Institute, announced plans to develop a total of seven hospitals through the public private partnership (PPP) model.The projects would need federal funding of approximately P8.8 billion (US$518.7 million).
