Metro Vancouver seeks financial and commercial advisors for a wastewater plant

The Greater Vancouver Sewerage and Drainage District has launched a request for proposal (RFP) for financial and commercial advisory services for the Lions Gate Secondary Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The contract will include financial and commercial advisory services to support Metro Vancouver and the design - build consultant to develop the project agreement and procurement of the wastewater treatment plant.

The new plant will replace the existing Lions Gate Primary WWTP. The new project is located approximately 2 km east of the existing WWTP and Lions Gate Bridge in North Shore, Vancouver.

The project will be developed on a design, build and finance (DBF) basis.

The Metro Vancouver Board has endorsed the Indicative Design (November 2013) and approved the DBF model (February 2014). The project is expected to be operational by December 2020.

The Metro Vancouver Board of Directors has formally committed a one-third share of the CAD$700 million (US$611 million) in estimated costs for the Lions Gate project, and is currently seeking a commitment from the federal and British Columbia governments for the remaining two-thirds of the project's capital costs.

It is anticipated that the financial and commercial advisory team would have specific expertise in the DBF procurement of large infrastructure projects.

Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 16 December 2014.
