The 60:40 joint venture formed by India's MEP Infrastructure Developers Ltd and Spain's Constructora San Jose has won another contract in India.
The consortium has been awarded by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) the project involving the four laning of Mahuva to Kagavadar Phase IV on Hybrid Annuity Model in the state of Gujarat.
The project comprises the NH-8E section from Km.100.110 to Km 139.915 and the estimated total investment is up to INR6.05 billion (US$87 million).
The project has been awarded under a 15-year concession contract excluding the contruction period, which is estimated at 2 years and 6 months. The costs of operation and maintenance (O&M) for the first year will reach INR84.6 million (US$1.24 million).
Hybrid Annuity Mode is a mix of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and build operate transfer (BOT) model. The Authority and the private companies share the total project cost in the ratio of 40: 60 respectively.
In May we reported that the consortium had won the contract for the four laning of Talaja-Mahuya Section of NH 8E from Km 54.990 to Km 100.450.
Additionally, in early April, we also informed that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) had awarded three road public private partnership (PPP) projects to MEP Infrastructure Developers Ltd (74%) and its joint venture partner SANJOSE India Infrastructure & Construction Ltd (26%). The total bid project cost was estimated at US$265 million and the three projects were the following:
According to sources, Mr. Javant D Mhaiskar, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of MEP Infrastructure Developers said:

This project is a continuation of the Talaja - Mahuva stretch awarded to us last month, thus enabling us to optimize our resources and complete these projects in a stipulated time frame."
