The joint venture of MEP Infrastructure Developers and its Spanish partner, Constructora San Jose has received the letter of the award from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the Talaja-Mahuya Section PPP project. MEP Infrastructure Developers and Sanjose India Infrastructure & Construction hold 60% and 40% of the joint venture, respectively.
The contract awarded by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will have a total investment of INR 6.43 billion (US$94.5 million).The project has been awarded under a 15-year concession agreement.
The project, under the hybrid annuity model, encompasses the construction of the four laning section of NH 8E from Km. 53.585 to Km. 100.100 in the State of Gujarat.
According to sources, Mr. Jayant D Mhaiskar, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of MEP Infrastructure Developers said:
"We have been able to maintain our winning run after being declared as successful bidder (L1) for the consecutive 5th project in last 8 weeks' time for the Hybrid Annuity project. We are happy to enter in the State of Gujarat for Hybrid Annuity Project and we are confident of completing the projects in a stipulated time frame and with the desired quality to play a significant role in the country's infrastructure development."
