The Peruvian Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversión), through its Committee on hydrocarbons and Energy Projects Pro Connectivity, has announced it has launched tender process related to transmission projects.
Proinversion launched its tender of Comprehensive Projects for awarding concession of the Guaranteed Transmission System (GTS)’s projects 500 kV Mantaro-Nueva Yanango-Carapongo Connection and Associated Sub-stations, 500 kV Nueva Yanango – Nueva Huánuco, 220 kV Tintaya-Azángaro Connection and Associated Sub-stations.
The concessions will be awarded under a Tender of Comprehensive Projects to the succesful bidder, who will be in charge of the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the abovementioned projects. The terms and conditions are available in the institutional website of PROINVERSIÓN.
The 500 kV Mantaro-Nueva Yanango-Carapongo Connection and Associated Substations project will allow the reinforcement of the transmission system in the central zone of the country, as well as the evacuation of surplus generation from the Mantaro zone towards Lima, foreseen in the new generation projects that will start operations in that area.
The 500 kV New Yanango-Nueva Huanuco Connection and Associated Substations project will allow greater reliability in the power supply to the Huánuco region, as well as the Paragsha (Cerro de Pasco) and Huaricashas and Vizcarra (Ancash) substations.
The 220 kV Tintaya-Azángaro Connection Associated Substations project​ will strengthen high-voltage transport in southern Peruvian regions.
The total investment for the three projects is expected to amount to US$660 million. The term of the concessions will be 30 years.
This projects are part of the Peru's government Transmission Plan 2015-2024.
