The Government of Jamaica, through the Ministry of Transport and Mining is seeking a private sector operator with proven experience in the airport sector to operate, finance, develop and maintain the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) under a long term concession agreement.
International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has been appointed by the GOJ as lead advisor on the structuring and implementation of the Project.
The Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ), the GOJ’s Privatization Agency and PPP Unit are co-advisors and Secretariat for the transaction.
The GOJ, IFC and DBJ are launching this invitation for prequalification applications for companies or consortia with experience in the airport sector. This Invitation for Prequalification forms the first phase of the international competitive bidding process for the project. The GOJ intends to select the private sector operator for the Project through an open, transparent and competitive international bidding process with the objective of commercially signing the concession agreement by the last quarter of 2017.
