The Peruvian Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversión) presented the portfolio of high-potential projects to be awarded by the Institution between 2017 and 2018, pointing out the positive impact of the PPPs not only to boost the national economy, but also to benefit all Peruvians.
The 2017-2018 portfolio of ProInversión is comprised of 32 APP projects and Asset Projects for an amount of more than US$14.4 billion. Of this total, 16 is scheduled to be awarded in the current year, in the amount of US$4.077 million; 15 projects for US$ 3,750 million in 2018; while Line 3 of the Metro of Lima (US$ 6.6 billion) could be awarded between the last months of 2018 or early 2019.
The projects belong to important sectors such as: transportation, energy, mining, real estate, sanitation, hydrocarbons and health.
ProInversion´s Executive Director, Álvaro Quijandría, said:
"These are strategic projects, chosen under strategic and functional feasibility criteria, which will help close the infrastructure gap and improve the country's competitiveness in the international context,"
Quijandría also informed that in the first months of its management, ProInversión has obtained the contract with the Magistral mining company, the call for tender for a package of two electric transmission projects, the unlocking of processes and the identification of projects of high potential to be awarded in the short term. Quijandría also said that an Office of Transparency, Integrity and Prevention of Corruption will be implemented in ProInversión in March.
Latin American public and private sector leaders will address countries’ policies and strategies to engage investors and stimulate open discussions. 250 energy developers, financiers and public sector stakeholders are expected to attend the meeting from North America and countries across Latin America.
