Colombia's National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has awarded the contract for building a third lane on each direction on the Bogotá - Girardot road through a PPP project to the team Estructura Plural Vías a Girardot.

The team is formed by Industrial Conconcreto (30%) and Constructora Conconcreto (70%),

As we reported in mid July, five bidders submitted their proposals for the development of the Bogotá-Girardot PPP project, which is a public-private partnership initiated under a private initiative scheme.

Besides Estructura Plural Vías a Girardot, the bids were submitted by:

  • Estructura Plural Tercer Carril (the private initiative originator), composed of:
    • Infraestructura Concesionada SAS
    • INFRACON SAS (25%)
    • ICEIN Ingenieros Constructores SAS, (25%)
    • CONALVÍAS Construcciones SAS (25%)
    • Herdoiza Crespo Construcciones Colombia SAS (25%)

    • Carlos Alberto Solarte Solarte (50%)

The Bogotá-Girardot PPP-PI project consists of the addition of a new lane in both directions to the current Bogotá-Girardot highway becoming a six lane highway. The new lane will be implemented from the Sumapaz tunnel to the municipality of Granada, along 67 kilometers. The project also provides for the maintenance and rehabilitation of 154.81 kilometers of existing track.

The estimated investment for development of the project is about COP1.71 trillion (US$572 million).

The Bogotá-Girardot PPP-PI project is part of the Private Public Private Partnerships Initiative launched by the Colombia Government to complement the modernization of the country roads.
