The government of Uruguay has plans to launch a tender process for the development of more than 200 schools through the public private partnership (PPP) model.
More concretely, the tender process would involve the development of 165 schools for the National Public Education Administration (ANEP). The new schools would be located in the following areas:
Additionally the project also involves the development of 60 schools for the Institute of Child and Adolescent of Uruguay (INAU).
The total project investment is estimated at US$432 million
According to the Government, the project is currently being structured under the PPP model.
In November 2015, the Government of Uruguay announced that a Sacyr-led team had been selected as the preferred bidder to develop three sections of the route 21 and 24 through a PPP model.
The 179 km road project will involve the development of the section 2 of the route 21 and the sections 2 and 3 of the route 24. This new road will link the main ports of the country. The project could also involve the development of two bypasses, one in Dolores and one in Mercedes.
