The state of British Columbia, in Canada, has selected a developer to build a patient care tower and a multi-story parking garage at a hospital in Penticton, British Columbia through a public-private partnership.
EllisDon Infrastructure will develop the project CAD$325 million (US$229 million) project, plans to break ground this year, after the partners sign a final agreement, which must then be approved by the provincial government.
The team led by EllisDon Capital Inc., also includes Ontario Pension Board (equity providers); EllisDon (design-builder), Parkin Architects Limited (architect); Cofely Services Inc. (service provider), EllisDon Facility Services Inc. (service provider).
The project will be developed on a design, build, finance, and maintain (DBFM) basis. The contract period will be 30 years.
British Columbia will cover 60 percent of payments to the developer through funding to be provided by the Ontario Pension Board. The remainder will be paid by the Okanagan Similkameen Regional Hospital District.
