Madhya Pradesh tenders $280m road PPP project

Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Ltd. (MPRDC) has launched a tender process to develop the Indore-Ichapur to Madhya Pradesh/Maharashtra Border (SH-27) road PPP project.

The project involves the development of a four laning with paved shoulder road. The project will be developed on build - operate - transfer, BOT (Toll) basis.

The total project investment is estimated at Rs17.3 billion (US$282.7 million).

The request for qualification (RFQ) was issued on 23 September 2014. The pre-qualification conference was hold on 25 Sept. Interested parties must submit their qualification documents before October 29th.

During the year 2013-14, NHAI awarded seventeen projects, for a total length of 1435.84 kms, of which only two projects are on PPP mode. The PPP projects recently awarded are the following:

The Indian road sector is in trouble, another proof is that twenty-one road PPP projects bid out by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) did not get a single bidder during the fiscal year 2013-2014.
