Eiffage announced on February 25th that it has won its second PPP road contract in Senegal, the extension of the Dakar - Diamniadio toll highway PPP project.
The project will be developed on a design, build, finance, operation and maintenance (DBFOM) until 2039. The extension to the Dakar-Diamniadio toll motorway, also managed by Eiffage, will link the Diamniadio junction and Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD), which is now being built.
The total investment is estimated at €121 million (US$167 million). The project will be partly financed by the French agency for Development (AFD).
The project involves the construction of a new 16.5 km motorway, 2 by 2 lane section will link Dakar city centre to the new airport.
Engineering studies and works will be carried out by the Eiffage Sénégal and Eiffage TP consortium, with the participation of Senegalese firms. APRR, another subsidiary of Eiffage, will help these two units for the implementation of the operating system of the toll highway.
This contract will contribute to Senegal's economic development with the construction of an important link between Dakar and Bamako, in Mali. It continues the partnership established between the Eiffage Group and the State of Senegal nearly 90 years ago.
