The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announced that it has received and accepted four Technical Proposals in response to its Request for Proposals for the I-4 Ultimate Project.

The project will be developed on a  design, build, finance, operate and maintain basis. The project cost is estimated at US$ 2 billion.

Technical Proposals were submitted by all four shortlisted bidders:

1. 4wardPartners2. I-4 Development Partners LLC3. I-4 Mobility Partners4. Ultimate Mobility Partners

The Financial Proposals scheduled on March 13, 2014 will include price for work to be performed by the winning proposer. During the next 2 and a half months, FDOT will be reviewing the Technical Proposals as well as the Financial Proposals received. The next step is a final selection which is expected at a public meeting in April of 2014.

The project includes the reconstruction of 21 miles of I-4 from west of Kirkman Road in Orange County to east of State Road 434 in Seminole County. The I-4 Ultimate project adds four tolled express lanes to I-4 while maintaining the existing free general use lanes, providing a choice to motorists.
