Ecuador's Ministry of Transport and Public Works has opened the expression of interest process to qualify national and international bidders for the development of the Santo Domingo - Quevedo and the Quevedo - Babahoyo - Jujan highways under PPP model.
The Santo Domingo - Quevedo road project involves the design, financing and rehabilitiation of a 93.11-km corridor between the Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas y Los Ríos provinces in Ecuador. The project will also involve the development of two additional lanes for the corridor as well as operation and maintenance works during the concession period, which is 30 years. The estimated investment of this project is US$258 million.
The Quevedo - Babahoyo - Jujan road project involves the development a 4-lane corridor of 103.17 km connecting Los Rios and Guayas provinces. This scheme follows the aforementioned DBFOM approach with the same contract duration of 30 years and an estimated investment of US$ 304 million.
As we reported in 2016, the government of Ecuador decided to merge the Quevedo – Jujan road project and the Santo Domingo – Quevedo road project into a single concession, but now the MTOP has launched two different RFEOIs for each corridor.
The deadline for submitting EOI documents is on or before August 13th at 17:00 (Ecuador)
